In addition to deciding whether to reduce the size of the City Council, Palo Alto voters on Tuesday will consider whether to raise the transient occupancy tax and amend the utility users tax.

The transient occupancy tax would climb by two percentage points, from 12 to 14 percent, under Measure B. The council has announced plans to use the additional $2.2 million in annual revenue for infrastructure maintenance and improvements such as a new public safety building.
